Salut! is a restaurant set up by 2 brothers: Martin and Christoph Lange.
Both grew up in the countryside of North East Germany and helped out in their parents’ restaurant from a very early age before proceeding to catering school. Christoph, trained as a chef and Martin in front of house. The cuisine could be classed as Modern European: a fusion between Nordic and French with some German influence. Salut! has a comfortable dining room with wooden tables and carefully sourced vintage furniture. Beautiful large windows let in loads of light during the day and with slow music, dimmed lights and candles, we create an intimate and relaxed atmosphere in the evening.
After completing his training, Christoph moved to London to work at fine dining restaurants in Mayfair and South Kensington before moving on to work for Esben Helmboe Bang at Maeemo in Oslo as well as René Redzepi at the renowned Noma in Copenhagen.
After completing his training, Martin went on to manage fine dining restaurants in St. Moritz, Switzerland and German Baltic Sea resorts before coming to London in 2005. He has since worked at The May Fair Bar, worked as the Catering Manager at The National Theatre where he was also tasked with opening the National Theatre’s first restaurant outside the main building.
